Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2025

1. Agreement to terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of AKRetro (the "Service"), a collaborative sprint retrospective tool available at this domain. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you have questions, reach us through our contact form.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and any account accessed via a third-party provider (Google, GitHub).

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
  • Upload or share content that is illegal, abusive, defamatory, or infringes others' rights.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to boards, accounts, or systems.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or circumvent its security or access controls.
  • Disrupt or place an unreasonable load on the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our permission.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the retrospective cards, comments, votes, action items, and other content you create ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you and the people you share boards with. You are responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have the rights to share it.

5. Board access and sharing

The Service lets you control who can view and use a board (public, invite-only, or private). You are responsible for choosing the appropriate access mode and for the people you invite. Anyone you grant access to may view, add, edit, or vote on content according to their role. Setting a board to public makes its content accessible to anyone with the link.

6. Service availability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. It may run on free or shared infrastructure and can be subject to capacity limits, interruptions, or maintenance. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

7. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers including Supabase (database, authentication, real-time) and Resend (optional transactional email). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that may cause harm to us, other users, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive will survive.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or business arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
